Third construction phase will enable Frescomar to be self-sufficient

 Frescomar, Phase 3

1.5 MWpeak are installed and will supply up to 100% of the fish factory’s power needs during the day.

Starting on 22 May 2023, the German-Portuguese Chamber of Industry and Commerce, AHK Portugal, will be organizing its next energy business trip to the island of Sal, Cape Verde and just in time for the start of the conference on "Energy efficiency with the integration of renewable energies"[1], Ecoproject Cabo Verde S.A. is commissioning the last construction phase of the Frescomar fish factory on the island of Sao Vicente [2]. Thanks to the excellent cooperation with GTEK Lda[3,4] and Q.Cells, solid long-term yields are ensured.

“Much of the sustainable development of Cape Verde depends on its energy supply, which is largely based on imported primary energy sources. We are therefore very pleased that the UBAGO Group continues to place its trust in us – our next PV project, the Atunlo site with 736 kWpeak, is already in preparation," said José Britto, managing partner of Ecoproject Cabo Verde.

The focus of this year's energy business trip organised by AHK Portugal is energy efficiency with the integration of renewable energies in the tourism sector, which the Cape Verdean government wants to strategically expand. "We are very pleased to personally meet with decision makers from the tourism industry and representatives of the Cape Verdean ministries, the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Energy (MICE), the Ministry of Tourism and Transport (MTT), the state investment promotion agency Cabo Verde TradeInvest (CVTI), the Cape Verde Tourism Institute (ITCV), the Cape Verde Chamber of Tourism (CTCV), the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Barlavento (CCB) and Sotavento (CCS), as well as the state-owned energy supplier and grid operator ELECTRA SA, were able to hold individual discussions on further potential uses for wind, solar and hydrogen energy during the German delegation trip, sponsored by the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Protection[5]," said Heike Kröger and Ubbo de Witt, managing partners of Projekt Firmengruppe.
